In 1979 the Mision Latinoamericana in junction with the Asociación de Ministerios Cristianos a los Anglohablantes AMCA, wishing to adquire a place in the suburbs outside the city of San Jose to promote spiritual retirements for Young people, this Mission bought this rural property on the mountains of San Gerardo de Dota by the late 70´s.
These piece of land (originally called Campamento Savegre) was used for camping until a cabin with berths was built.
By the end of the 80´s, this cabin had enough room for 60 campers. Then, the name was changed into Campamento La Cumbre and the facilities were improved.
Nowdays, Campamento La Cumbre has room for 120 people weekly with the purpose to share Jesus´ message. Over the years, the Camp has been developed with the support of different kind of groups from several countries. All this helpers have seen the potential of the place and have invested thousands of hours to be transformed as it is now.
